How to Eat Vegetarian at Taco Bell

No meat? No problem.

At Taco Bell, vegetarian options are not an afterthought. Yeah, we’ve got Beefy 5-Layer Burritos and the classic Crunchy Taco, but we also have a ton of craveable vegetarian options. If this vegetarian stuff is a surprise to you… “Welcome.” We’ve actually got years in our pocket making a mean Bean Burrito, and our menu has several easy-to-spot certified vegetarian options. Whether you’re in the drive-thru or ordering digitally via delivery or the Taco Bell mobile app, we’ve got you covered.

Our guests who visit us in-restaurant can check out our fan-favorites on our menu boards like the Black Bean Crunchwrap or can utilize Veggie Mode on our kiosks. With just a tap of a button on our in-restaurant kiosks, nearly the entire Taco Bell menu goes into full Veggie Mode, revealing over 25 of your Taco Bell favorites made certified vegetarian - like a Black Bean Chalupa. Check out this video to see how Veggie Mode works.

Digital customers get exclusive access to our Veggie Cravings Menu with over a dozen certified vegetarian options right at your fingertips from the Black Bean Quesarito to the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes. The Veggie Cravings Menu makes it easier than ever for fans to order vegetarian versions of classic Taco Bell items. Want even more? There are over 30 vegetarian ingredients on our menu during both breakfast and the rest of the day, the majority of which are also certified vegan. These can be combined for nearly 1,000 breakfast combinations and nearly 1 million combinations the rest of the day!

And yes, --- all these vegetarian ingredients and menu items are American Vegetarian Association (AVA) certified. AVA certified Taco Bell vegetarian items are lacto-ovo, allowing the consumption of dairy and eggs but not any animal by-products.

While ‘Veggie Mode’ is only available on kiosks in restaurants, many of our menu items can still be modified to be vegetarian online at tacobell.com or through the Taco Bell mobile app with our ‘Make it Vegetarian’ button. Whether you’re in the drive-thru or ordering at the counter in-restaurant, you’ll see some of our favorite AVA-certified menu items on the Taco Bell menu.
