Taco Bell Founder, Glen Bell, had more than just a vision for serving great food. He also believed in giving back to his community and investing in young people as highlighted in 2 of the recipes for Success from The Glen Bell Story, Taco Titan. Recipe for Success #55 The greater your hands-on participation in giving, the more rewarding the experience; Success #56 -Support organizations that encourage initiative in children.
The mission at Taco Bell encompasses that vision 50 years later by giving back to our communities and caring about the passions and goals of our Team Members. When Taco Bell employees want to pursue their scholastic ambitions and improve their life skills, we want to help make that happen.
The Glen Bell Scholarship Program helps provide educational opportunities by awarding financial scholarships to eligible Taco Bell hourly employees. Each year, Team Members and Shift Leads can apply for scholarships given for undergraduate, graduate and vocational-technical education. Awards are up to $2,000. Since the program began in 2002 over $1M has been awarded to over 500 students. In 2011, there were 756 applications submitted, 68 recipients selected and awards presented of over $120,000.
If you have questions regarding the program, please call (507) 931-1682 and ask for the Taco Bell Program Manager.
